Pettavel Olive Oil The Pettavel olive grove acts as a wind break from the often strong spring coastal seas breezes, protecting the Shiraz vines on the Waurn Ponds ridge during the important spring flowering period. The olive trees are proven well suited to the shallow soil and produced the first major crop in 2006. A total of seven olive varieties are planted with three varieties (Arbequina, Manzanillo and Barnera) producing crop that was cold pressed for our first production of estate grown olive oil.
The Pettavel estate grown, cold pressed olive oil is used in the Pettavel kitchen, served with every Pettavel meal, and is available for purchase in the Pettavel Cellar Door.
