The modern day Pettavel Winery and Restaurant features a state of the art winery, cellar door sales, fine dining restaurant and flexible function facilities, positioned on a hill top with sweeping views. Situated at the start of the Great Ocean Road, Victoria's premier tourist attraction Pettavel welcomes visitors year round.

PETTAVEL’S EXECUTIVE CHEF, MATT DEMPSEY, WINS ELECTROLUX 2009 YOUNG CHEF OF THE YEAR
In August 2009, at a Sydney awards ceremony, Pettavel Executive Chef Matt Dempsey was named ‘Australian’s Young Chef of the Year.'
As the national winner Matt will represent Australia in the S.Pellegrino Cooking Cup in Venice in July 2010. During his time overseas Matt will spend time working in the kitchen of renowned Australian Chef David Thompson’s Michelin Star Restaurant, Nahm at the Halkin Hotel, London.
THE AGE GOOD FOOD GUIDE 2010
Pettavel is thrilled to be awarded an eighth One Hat rating by The Age Good Food Guide 2010. Pettavel is one of fifteen restaurants in Country Victoria with a One Hat rating. A Chef’s Hat awarded by The Age Good Food Guide is one of the most recognised awards in the restaurant industry. A team of anonymous, professional reviewers and food writers travel the state searching for and awarding Victoria’s best dining experiences. Pettavel was awarded a One Hat score of 15/20 for 2010.

Three Pettavel wines were recently rated in the top five imported white wines in Japan. FEDERATION SQUARE REGIONAL WINE AWARDS

Pettavel once again, this year are thrilled to win ‘Best Modern Australian - Regional Restaurant’, for the second year running.
In 2005, Pettavel was inducted into the Restaurant and Catering, Victoria, Hall of Fame, after winning ‘Best Restaurant in a Winery’ category for three consecutive years. Late winter rains arrived in Geelong and the much needed rainfall has finally saturated soil moisture levels with long awaited run off flowing into our dams. The odd warm sun filled day and gradual temperature increase awakens the dormant vines: buds are swelling in the vineyard signalling forthcoming bud burst and start of a new season.
In the winery blending and bottling continues as new vintage wines are required for release and enjoyment by our customers around the world. New export markets that have opened to Pettavel in recent months include Taiwan, The Maldives, Russia and Korea, keeping the wine team busy preparing and dispatching shipments of our estate grown and made wines around the world.

2009 evening star Late Harvest Riesling
The drought effected 2009 growing and ripening season produced low yields and vigour in our Riesling vineyard. The late harvest date produced challenges with the extreme heat as the exposed bunches matured quickly in the intense sun. Hand harvesting and sorting in the vineyard ensured that only quality bunches were gently pressed and cool fermented prior to early bottling and release....discover more about the Pettavel portfolio of wines
2007 evening star riesling
The warm and dry growing season of 2007 produced ideal growing conditions in our Riesling vineyard. The warm days promoted even ripening while the cool maritime influenced nights retained vibrant perfumed fruit aromas and flavours with crisp natural acid levels. Pettavel Restaurant
The award winning Pettavel Restaurant is open for lunch seven days a week from 12:00pm, and each Friday evening from 6:00pm with reservations essential.
